Amanda Corr (formerly Parton) was raised in New Jersey and completed her undergraduate training at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. She worked for a major pharmaceutical company prior to attending veterinary school. In 2006, Amanda graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. In 2007 she completed a small animal internship at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She then returned to the University of Pennsylvania for her residency in comparative ophthalmology which she completed in July 2010. Drs. Stephen Gross, Gustavo Aguirre, Andras Komaromy, William Beltran and Mary Utter were Amanda's mentors throughout her residency training. She has satisfied the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO) credential requirements and she is eligible to sit for the ACVO board examination. Amanda enjoys all aspects of veterinary ophthalmology but is particularly interested in corneal disease, inherited ocular disease and surgery.
She and her family live in Chester County and share their home with her beloved chihuahua mix, Jack, who she rescued while in Tennessee.
